What is capitalism?  →
or over a century, leftists have used the word “capitalism” as a type of curse word, the cause of all economic ills. “Oh, well that’s capitalism for you”, they’ll mutter when they read a story that involves anything economically negative. They see “capitalism” as a system where the rich wage war on the poor, or where corporations use the government to trample the rights of minorities and...

Who will be the next Ron Paul? →
From reason magazine 3.) Rep. John Duncan Jr. (R-Tenn.) When Paul retires, Tennessee Congressman John “Jimmy” Duncan Jr. will be the last sitting House Republican to have voted against the Iraq War. Not just once, but every time the issue was on the table. Along with Paul, Duncan voted against the war in 2003, against a House declaration in support of the war in 2006, and against...

The impossibility of socialism →
The heart of Mises’ argument against socialism is that central planning by the government destroys the essential tool — competitively formed market prices — by which people in a society make rational economic decisions. A modem economy with an advanced system of division of labor, sophisticated technologies and a wide variety of capital equipment is just too complex for planners to...

Until a socialist can tell me how to motivate...
If I’m entitled to the same food, shelter, clothing, entertainment, and standard of living as everyone else what exactly is my incentive? Whether I’m a janitor or rocket science we would get an equal amount. Since socialism is all about equality rather than profit and private property.  Working for the “greater good” would not be enough incentive for me to produce.

As the neo-cons try to out neo-con each other and boast who is the biggest war monger.  he complete lack of any thoughtfulness should be worrying to those few Republicans left who care about such things. “The world is more dangerous,” says Romney. “It is not safer.” Yes, after a decade of constant warfare, after invading and occupying two Muslim countries and striking from Somalia to...

Clinton: Syria Rebels to Find Arms ‘Somewhere’ →
Of course in the war mongers mind, like Clinton, that means we should just arm them ourselves.  Arriving in London today on the first leg of a tour of the region, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she believed that the Syrian rebels would be able to arm themselves better in the future, predicting “increasingly capable” forces who would find arms “somewhere.” Clinton’s comments come just...

I tried explaining this to one of my employees this morning.  All he kept on saying was “it’s all Obama’s fault.”  Guess that’s what happens when all you do is listen to neo-con radio all day long.  You become brainwashed into blaming Obama and the Democrats for all the problems in this country.  When both parties are two blame.  As they are both part of the...

Dow up 45 points on Friday. The 10-year T-note right on the 2% yield mark. Almost all the news is good. It looks like recovery is finally here. Or, are we just getting used to a punky economy…where even a little improvement looks like a boom? As far as we know, the US economy is still in a Great Correction…with plenty ...

What you're not supposed to know about war →
This is something everyone should know.  War enriches the state.  The longer the war, conflict, or whatever the more freedoms and liberties the state can take from us all in the name of national security.  Anyone who believes in a free society, small and limited government, and a healthy economy should be against war.  It is a testament to the power of government propaganda that several ...

US Restarted Pakistan Drone Strikes Despite... →
Obama loves murdering women and children.  So lets keep those drone strikes going.  The resumption of US drone strikes against Pakistan’s tribal areas last month came amid rumors of ongoing negotiations with the Pakistani government, and a putative deal to keep the strikes to a minimum. This appears not to have been the case, however, as new reports indicate that the US simply “informed”...

John Stossel Tried to Open a Lemonade Stand →
Want to open a business in America? It isn’t easy. In Midway, Ga., a 14-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister sold lemonade from their front yard. Two police officers bought some. But the next day, different officers ordered them to close their stand. Their father went to city hall to try to find out why. The clerk laughed and said she didn’t know. Eventually, Police Chief...

Did 'The Great Society' Ruin Society? →
by Pat Buchanan Lyndon Johnson told us this was the way to build a Great Society. Did we? Federal and state spending on social welfare is approaching $1 trillion a year, $17 trillion since the Great Society was launched, not to mention private charity. But we have witnessed a headlong descent into social decomposition. Half of all children born to women under 30 in America now are ...

by Ron Paul Contrary to what most of the Republicans are saying, Obama is not cutting the military.  When Washington talks about “cuts” they are talking about a cut to the rate of increase.  Which is why we need Ron Paul.  He is the only one who will make cut cuts as Murray Rothbard like to call it.  The administration recently released its 2013 budget proposal, and conservatives...

Gold to rise much higher in this decade, do not... →
As Jim Rogers knows what money is.  Money is a commodity and gold is the kind of money as a commodity.  As governments continue to inflate their currencies gold will continue to rise and rise.  With continuous monetary easing from China, how much support do you see going in for commodities and liquidity eases with the biggest commodity consumer? Obama is a bigger war monger/criminal that Bush could have ever dreamed of being.  I just wish the majority of the anti-war activists were actually anti-war.  Obama is proof that they were only anti-Republican.  UN inspectors are back from Iran after a two-day visit. Aren't High Gas Prices What Democrats Want? →
At least gas is still under $4.00/gallon here in Massachusetts.  Gas prices are spiking. That’s great news, right? We have to wean ourselves off the stuff. At least that’s what we’ve been hearing for years. Oil is dirty. We import it from nations that hate our guts (like Canada!). And moreover, we’re running out. Oil is “finite.” Finite much in the way water...
